Francis Libiran Gown

It’s not everyday that a girl finds herself witnessing the first light of dawn on the peak of Coron’s second highest mountain. Nonetheless dressed, or should I say, practically swimming, in layer upon never-ending, luxurious layer of weightless chiffon. It wasn’t the most practical choice of wear, seeing as a faint-inducing 742-step climb up to the top the mountain was required at 4:30am in the morning. But the awing, neck-swiveling view of the first light of dawn breaking through the clouds above the misty, sleeping town of Coron, Palawan was definitely worth all the huffing and puffing.

I have to undoubtedly credit a huge part of the magic of this scene to this enchanting, turquoise creation by internationally acclaimed Filipino designer Francis Libiran. Visiting his showroom, each piece of his Fall Holiday 2015 collection draped lavishly off their hangers. In the end, it was the gorgeous turquoise hue of this empire cut gown that won me over (and it was a hard fight because every single piece vies for your attention). Each and every movement of the dress conjures up a dream-like state; where everything is fluid and luminous and floating. It was as much of a dream to wear as it is to look at.
