Finding myself amongst splashes of deep sea blue and white at Mykonos on Balesin Island, there couldn’t be a more fitting backdrop to flit around and explore while daydreaming that I was actually wandering through the town of Santorini…

IXIAH Dress (Shop LCP) / Billabong Sandals

The past two weeks have left me a little exasperated moving houses – something I’ve done every year since moving out from my parents place at eighteen – and although some completely loathe the experience I’ve grown to kind of enjoy it. Its an opportunity to force myself to “spring clean” all of my things. Aside from parting ways with things that I’m practically (but not admittedly) hoarding it also allows me to revise my wardrobe so that it reflects my current style not my one year or two year old style. After clearing my wardrobe of two moving boxes (yikes) I can happily look at my closet and not feel claustrophobic or like I’m collecting. Mega-tip: if you want to make you wardrobe look 10 times better, use identical coat hangers. You can thank me later.

Throughout the evolution of my style, I constantly find myself gravitating towards timeless pieces like this IXIAH maxi dress; with its gold embellishments and belt that flatteringly cinches in the light, flowing hem at the waist. The fabric is glossy enough to appeal to formal nights out and light enough to wear throughout the day. Its a piece that I’d happily allow to adoringly hang in my closet for the future years and style transitions to come. Finding myself amongst splashes of deep sea blue and white at Mykonos on Balesin Island, there couldn’t be a more fitting backdrop to flit around and explore while daydreaming that I was actually wandering through the town of Santorini…well, one day.
