I’ve finally resurfaced from my weekend work-cation at beautiful Balesin Island. Now, finding myself back in the contrasting, gloomy hustle and bustle of Manila’s wet season has once again allowed the travel bug to pester me, calling me to see the world where its sunnier… and warmer.

It was my first time in Balesin, and even though we were joined on the island by a passing typhoon, the sights to see were still beautiful. Balesin consists of different themed resorts with restaurants that serve cultured foods amongst characteristic decor. I took a particular liking to St Tropez with its colourful, saturated walls against an uninterrupted view of the sea. The weather was soggy and grey so I chose to wear this neoprene top and skirt combo which pair so well that you could swear it was a dress. The low back makes for a breezy, laid-back feel which is perfect for lounging about or exploring on the go.Here, we ate a breakfast of crepes (the four cheese and nutella banana are to DIE for) and nibbled at pastries while savouring the view. Not a bad way to spend your weekend morning if you ask me.
