I’m finally back after being away from my blog for a while – following the gloomy, soggy weather resulting from the recent Typhoon Ruby here in the Philippines, and being away visiting the beautiful island of Palawan for a shoot with Preview Magazine – I’ve finally had time to create some new material and write a post! This is the second time I’ve been able to collab with the awesome Don Michael of Happy Fingers Photography and as usual, I’m really pleased with our end result. I’m rarely found out late at night – I’m usually bundled up at home, on my computer in my Creative Cave studying, writing, reading or something of the sort. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a self-proclaimed homebody and am quite content with being that way. In this capsule, I found myself amongst the city lights – the cool breeze of December brushing my cheeks. I love the change of the weather in relation to the hemisphere here in the Philippines compared to Australia (Winter in Australia is around June).
For a change, I wanted to channel an edgy, dishevelled look without the cliche black eyeliner and leather jacket. So instead I wore my lace up boots (something that I’m always careful to style – because when worn without pants or leggings, can tend to make your legs look short due to the high cut of the boot) paired with a graphic, striped dress with back detail. I’m always conscious that wearing just a cocktail dress and heals is quite basic – so I added a twist by adding my basic black sweater and packed a punch with a bold red lip. Who said tying up your jacket at the hip was only for kids?
