I’m back after a short break from social media over the holidays. I had a break because I feel that spending time with family and loved ones is more important than showcasing it on social media – although, I love seeing posts that share Christmas cheer! My Christmas was spent quietly at home. We invited friends and family over and we ate and sang and hibernated (from our food-comas of course!) Haha! I transformed into Betty Crocker on Christmas Eve whipping up Apple Pie with pastry from scratch, cranberry-walnut bread, hand made dinner rolls, mini strawberry nut cakes (recipe coming soon) and spiced carrot and date loaf. Talk about carb-loading. As I always say, Christmas is once a year, so I don’t mind sacrificing my healthy eating for a day (or two hehe).

Since Boxing Day (Dec 26th) its back to the gym – working on my fitness plan for 2015. I also had my second Hot Primary Yoga Class at Beyond Yoga with was just as good as the first! I decided to get motivated before the New Year, because what better time is there then right Now?
Being the perfectionist that I am, planning for 2015’s goals and resolutions is already underway! I can’t wait for the New Year to roll over. Today, I woke up at 7:00am (waking up early is a tremendous feat for me – aka someone who has been a “night owl all her life”) which also happens to be one of my new year resolutions. Days feel so much longer when you wake up with the sun. After completing my strength training, I came home to a fresh, green smoothie and then went out to run some errands. The cool weather is bliss this time of year! I hope you all had a productive day, and are on your way to getting motivated for the New Year!
